»What you see is what you see«

Hi MINIMAL ART,

In this post I will take a good look at you and the result is remarkable. What you've achieved in art is really great. For all people who still know far too little about you, there is this post and for you, my dear minimalist art🖤  a small declaration of love in 2021!

WHAT IS MINIMAL ART?

Nobody really knows when you were born. At some point in the late 50s or early 60s you were suddenly there and questioning the previous forms of artistic expression.

You had a clear message: art is all about art, about the work of art that is perfect when it is in its original form as it is. And yes, there are official definitions of what you are for you too:

MINIMAL TYPE DEFINITION

»…MINIMAL ART is an art movement of the fine arts (painting, sculpture, object art) that emerged in the USA in the early 1960s. Wikipediaia

»MINIMAL ART mostly refers to the American art movement,

but can also be used asgeneral term for minimal / minimalist art (Minimalism) be used. kunst-malerei.infofo

PERSONALIZATION

So you came very sober with your clarity, your simplicity in form. And woe, an artist wanted to show himself vainly in his art, that could make you really uncomfortable. For you, the art was on the big stage, not the artist himselfDepersonalization you called that.

ART IS NOT VISIBLE

It went so far that an artist invited the exhibition to open and the visitors saw nothing, just a white room. The reason given by the artist: I am only exhibiting the space and its energy in it. His message: art is not visible.

In your first lesson, MINIMAL ART, you wanted to set a clear accent - against Pop Art and modern expressionism. It wasn't necessarily painting that you were much at home in. You were much more likely to be a guest in three-dimensional art: sculptures, rooms and objects - that was your world.

MINIMAL TYPE OF ORIGING

You owe your name MINIMAL ART to the art criticRichard Wollheim. In his 1965 essay he wrote about new mechanisms of reduction in art. The title of his essayabout this American art movement with minimal meaning was MINIMAL ART.

Radical reduction, a basic principle of minimalism, already existed before your name.Malevich work of art: The black square on a white background«

SUPREMATISM

The Russian painter was already formulating this in 1912Kazimir Malevich the turning away from objectivitySuprematism. His abstract paintingThe black square on a white background from 1915 was a minor sensation. It was the first such radically reduced work of art of the time.

MINIMAL ART CHARACTERISTICS OF MINIMALIST ART

Everyone should be able to understand MINIMAL ART

– even without prior knowledge, just in the free viewing of art.

At a time that is more time-sensitivePop artand emotionalexpressionismwere you, MINIMAL ART, a little revolution. With your minimalist approach to art, you wanted to focus on the essentials: the pure work of art in its essence.

It was clear early on that you would become famous. And that ART and MINIMALISM would fall so in love with you, too. No wonder you have it easy: that sympathetic, modest certain something that doesn't want to be any more than it is minimalist art.t.

But there were more good reasons for your great success:

🖤  NO COMPROMISE

MINIMAL ART should be for the viewer, not for the creator. And for that, the artist should go.

Then, according to your idea, you could be who you really are a work of art without any influence from the artist. At best, he should just create the idea of you and then release you again immediately..

Your materials often came ready-made from industry: bricks, fluorescent tubes or plexiglass. The idea behind it: the artist himself should work as little as possible himself.

🖤  SITE SPECIFITY

Art in minimalism is based on the place that is already there, not the place according to art. The artist should already include the exhibition location in the creation process of his work of art..

🖤  REDUCTION TO THE NECESSARY

In the beginning you were ostensibly three-dimensional art. Most of your followers worked with sculptures and room installations. But regardless of whether it is sculpture, sculpture, object art or painting.

One thing connected them all minimalist artwork: They were free of non-essential form, function or concept, only focused on the essentials. Due to this simplicity and the reduction, only the work of art was the focus of attention.

🖤  ONLY THE IDEA COUNTS

Especially in the area of object art, it was often just the pure idea of the work. The execution was irrelevant. Often the artist just gave the idea and left the execution to others.

🖤  EMPHASIS ON THE ORIGINAL

The artists of MINIMAL ART wanted to emphasize the original and simple in minimalist art. For this reason, some exhibitions with huge room installations were barely or only very cramped accessible for visitors.

🖤  RECOGNIZABLE FOR EVERYONE

MINIMAL ART, what mainly defines you is your absolute will not to be more than you are. You want everyone to be able to recognize you - no matter from which point of view and no matter whether with or without prior artistic knowledge.

MINIMALIST ART TODAYE

Today minimalist artists see you in their own light. You have developed - you are no longer as rigorously compliant and you find yourself today in many minimalist concepts.

Minimalist artists of the modern age make use of pure form and reduction in a variety of ways. You're more of a statement today. A commitment to the philosophy of stylistically reduced works of art.e.

Minimalism images today show a reduced and simple design. Often the motif of the minimalist picture is staged simply and without distracting accessories.

MINIMALIST ART IN LIVING SPACES

For many people today, minimalist works of art are a means of bringing reduction to the overcrowding of today. The goal: to calm rooms and surroundings.

MINIMUM KIND OF A LOVE DECLARATION IN 20211

So much is written here about you, MINIMAL ART. And now something very personal about me: I think you're great! Really great!! And do you know why! You really mixed up the art back then.

Before your time, artists were very preoccupied with themselves and their expression. The actual art itself often faded into the background.

MINIMAL ART, you campaigned for the fact that it is okay not to have to learn anything about art. Art should be palpable by whoever looks at it. It should make a difference in the viewer. By the way, this minimalist message was also included:

DO LESS AND SEE WHAT IS.

It's good that you have established yourself with your minimalist message in art. You are a great role model for me. In my life -My way to minimalism - and in my art. Only through you did I find space for myself: for my minimalist drawings - the beauty in less..

♥ Thank you for being there, MINIMAL ART.
